JP Cournoyer has been selected to this year’s list of “Legal Elite” in the area of Bankruptcy, to be published in the January issue of Business North Carolina. Less than 3% of practicing attorneys were selected to this list. John Northen has been a permanent “Hall of Fame” member of the Legal Elite, in the area of Bankruptcy, since 2008.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court approved a $3.15 million dollar settlement in favor of John Northen, the bankruptcy trustee for four related bankruptcy cases of a real estate developer. JP Cournoyer represented the trustee in this matter.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina has approved a $4.075 million settlement in favor of Sara Conti, the bankruptcy trustee of Clean Burn Fuels, LLC. The trustee was represented by John Northen, Vicki Parrott, and JP Cournoyer.

In 2016, Northen Blue LLP represented the debtor in the largest Triangle-area bankruptcy filing in 2016, and represented the debtor or trustee in three out of the top ten cases, according to the Triangle Business Journal.
